Today Tennis Squad launched not only their website, but also their mobile optimised site offering amateur tennis players the ability to download coaching clips directly to their mobile.
Owner of Tennis Squad, Rhys D W Jones said “Tennis Squad has always strived to pursue alternative methods of coaching and I believe that our move into mobile coaching videos symbolises our intent on looking at the most effective ways of coaching a younger, more technology savvy generation. There has been an increase in awareness over the involvement of young people in sport, regarding not only physical health, but also with the upcoming Olympic Games in London. I think that our mixture of traditional coaching techniques, fused with some of the freestyle tricks that young people witness the stars pulling off, will be ideal in encouraging more youngsters to improve their tennis skills. Overall I feel that the ability for an individual to have access to coaching on their mobile will be of far more use to them when they are not in a training session and are looking to receive guidance on certain shots.”
In order to achieve their goal of providing coaching videos to the masses via mobile, Tennis Squad not only needed a full web presence, including social media awareness, but also a full mobile presence with the functionality in place to allow content download. “The idea of coaching videos downloadable to mobile phones was something we worked on closely with Teimlo as it was something we felt to be imperative to the success of the site. Teimlo were really helpful in their approach, setting up an easy to use service not only for my students receiving the videos, but also for myself and my team.”
Tennis Squad have a full YouTube, Facebook and Twitter presence, as well as a standalone web and wap
optimised site, ensuring that they are fully accessible through all major channels. This is a new and exciting step forward in the world of tennis coaching, and it will hopefully help to influence more youngsters into picking up a racket and having a go!
